Shipping, Processing & Policies

Please allow a couple of extra days when choosing your shipping method. USPS and UPS may experience delays due to employee shortages, postal holidays, weather, or other unexpected issues. These delays are beyond my control.

Specific delivery dates are not guaranteed unless the shipping method states it is guaranteed. USPS only guarantees Express Shipping, and UPS only guarantees Next Day Air Shipping. Shipping estimates do not include processing time.

If you need your order by a certain date, please carefully read the posted processing times and choose the appropriate shipping method at checkout. Refunds are not given for orders that do not arrive by a specific date.

Location

Sweet Custom Creations is located in Appleton, Wisconsin. Shipping is available anywhere in the United States. At this time, local pickup and international shipping are not available.

Order Processing

Most orders are processed and shipped within 1–2 business days, depending on the time the order is received and the current order volume. Processing may take up to 6 business days if a proof is requested or if the current workload is busy.

Orders ship Monday through Friday only, excluding postal holidays. Orders do not ship on Saturdays or Sundays.

A shipping confirmation with tracking information will be emailed once your order has shipped.

Proof Processing

If you request a proof before your order is printed and shipped, it will be emailed to the email address provided on your order form within 24–96 hours / 1–4 business days, Monday through Friday, excluding postal holidays.

Your order may be delayed until the proof is approved. If no response is received within 2 days, your order may be printed and shipped within 2–6 business days to avoid further delays.

Please make sure you enter a valid email address and check your email frequently. Proof emails may go to your spam or junk folder. To help prevent this, please add the following email to your contacts:

Changes After Ordering

If you need to make changes after placing your order, please do not place another order. Email me first, and I can make the changes for you.

If you place a duplicate order and then request to cancel the original order, a 25% cancellation fee will apply.

If the shipping method selected is not available for your area, I will choose the closest available option based on the amount paid. If you have questions about shipping options, please message me before your order is processed.

Important Shipping Notes

Shipping time frames are estimates only unless stated as guaranteed. USPS and UPS do not count Saturdays, Sundays, postal holidays, or the day your order ships as business days.

Processing time is separate from shipping time. Processing may take 1–6 business days, Monday through Friday, excluding postal holidays.

Due to varied daily pickup times, same-day shipping is not guaranteed, even if you select UPS Next Day Air shipping.

All USPS and UPS shipping methods include up to $100 in insurance. If you would like to purchase additional insurance, please contact me before your order ships.

Please select the correct shipping method at checkout. Due to the volume of orders received, I do not email customers to recommend shipping upgrades. Every order is important, and I work to process them as quickly as possible.

Postal delays can happen, especially around holidays. Please plan ahead and choose the shipping method you need. If your event date is important, please do not choose a slower shipping method and expect guaranteed delivery. Plan for the unexpected.

Shipping Address

Please make sure the shipping address entered on your order form is correct and valid with USPS/UPS.

If the address is incorrect and USPS returns the package, a replacement or refund will not be provided due to the nature of the item.

If the address is incorrect and you select a UPS shipping method, UPS will not allow me to print a shipping label for your order. If this happens, I will choose the closest USPS available option based on the amount paid.

Please double-check your shipping address before placing your order. While I try to verify addresses, this process can delay order processing.

UPS only delivers to valid street addresses. UPS does not deliver to PO Boxes or military addresses. If shipping to a PO Box or military address, please choose a USPS shipping method.

Packaging

Edible images are shipped in sturdy cardboard envelopes with DO NOT BEND stickers on both sides to help protect your topper during shipment.

Your edible image is sealed in a plastic zip-lock bag, and detailed application instructions and tips are included with your order.

Multiple Separate Orders

Due to fraudulent chargebacks, multiple separate orders will no longer be shipped together. Each order placed will ship separately and will receive its own tracking number. This protects both the customer and Sweet Custom Creations.

Cancellations

Once your order has entered the processing stage, it cannot be canceled. This includes orders with proofs, as proofs are part of the processing stage.

If an order is canceled before processing begins, a 25% cancellation fee will apply to cover costs incurred. Please make sure you are committed to ordering before placing your order. This policy is non-negotiable.

Return Policy

All sales are final. Due to the nature of edible images, returns and refunds are not accepted.

If there is an error on my part, I will send a replacement.

Refunds are not given for orders that arrive late due to USPS or UPS delays. Please choose the appropriate shipping method at checkout. Shipping estimates do not include processing time.

Reversed Charges

By placing an order, you agree that if you dispute a charge with your credit card company, you are responsible for any chargeback costs incurred, as well as the original charge being disputed.

Delayed or Late Packages

Once your package has been scanned and is in the possession of USPS or UPS, I no longer have control over delivery times or postal operations.

I can only provide the tracking number for your order. For delivery updates, delays, or claims, you will need to contact USPS or UPS directly.

Damaged Orders

Edible images are packaged carefully, and damage during shipment is rare. However, if your edible image is damaged during shipping, please email a photo of the damaged edible image to:

You may receive a replacement edible image or store credit minus the shipping cost.

No replacements or refunds will be given for damage caused while applying the edible image. Please read the included instructions carefully before applying and ask any questions before use.

If your item is damaged during shipment, you will also need to contact USPS or UPS and file a damage claim.

Lost or Stolen Packages

If your order is lost or stolen, please file a claim directly with USPS or UPS.

Refunds are not given for lost, stolen, or returned orders. Please make sure your shipping address is correct before placing your order.

Returned to Sender

Orders returned to me due to no fault of my own will not be reshipped. Returned items are sent to a digital mailbox and are shredded, so I do not physically receive them back.

If an order is returned due to an error on my part, I will ship a replacement order.

Refunds are not given for returned orders, so please double-check your shipping address before submitting your order.

ABOUT EDIBLE IMAGES

Edible Image Information

Edible images are printed on premium icing/frosting sheets, not rice paper, using high-quality edible ink.

These icing sheets are thick, flexible, easy to peel, and hold up well in all climates. They are one of the highest quality icing sheets available.

Frosting sheets are FDA approved and Kosher certified.

They are gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, and soy-free and do not contain allergen ingredients.

Icing sheets are made with sugar and have a light, sweet taste.

Ingredients: starches, maltodextrin, glycerin, sugar, water, stabilizer, dextrose, emulsifiers, food color, vanilla flavor, preservatives, and sucralose.

Edible images can be used on cakes, cupcakes, cookies, fondant, ice cream cakes, and many other frosted treats.

When stored properly, frosting sheets have a shelf life of up to 24 months.

Image Layout

Due to the software/templates used, I am only able to print one image design per sheet.

For example, the 4x6" rectangle option includes 2 images on one sheet, but both images must be the same exact image. This applies to all sizes and layouts.

If you have multiple different images, please add each image as a separate sheet.

If you want several different images printed together on one sheet, you may create the layout yourself and upload it as one completed file. For example, if you want several different images printed on a full sheet, you would need to create an 11x14" layout, resize and place the images where you want them, and upload that completed file. It will be printed exactly as uploaded on the sheet size you order.

Cutting Your Image

Please note that images are not pre-cut.

There will be a faint black guideline around the image in the size you ordered. Frosting sheets are easy to cut or trim using scissors, paper punches, or an X-Acto knife.

Image Orientation

Your image will be printed in the same orientation shown in the sample.

If the sample image is vertical/portrait, it will print that way on the frosting sheet. If the sample image is horizontal/landscape, it will print that way.

If you would like the image printed in a different orientation, please leave a note on the order form so I know.

Using a Bakery or Outside Company

If you plan to give the printed edible image to a bakery or another outside company to apply, please check with them before ordering to make sure they are willing and able to use it. Some bakeries have their own policies about what edible images they can accept.

I do not claim ownership of any licensed graphics. Licensed graphics are for inspiration only and are intended for one-time personal use, such as birthday parties or personal celebrations.

Please note that not all bakeries or companies are aware of copyright restrictions, and some may refuse to use certain licensed images. If this happens, you may need to try another bakery/company or apply the edible image yourself.

I do not provide copyright releases or permission letters. Please make sure the bakery/company you choose does not require one before placing your order.

I am not responsible for any issues between you and the bakery/company you choose to use. No refunds will be given if your bakery or outside company refuses to use the edible image.

• Round Cakes: Take diameter and multiply by pi (3.14). Example: An 8" round cake would be 8 x 3.14 = 25.12"
• Square/Rectangle Cakes: Is the sum of all four sides. Example: A 10" square cake would be 10+10+10+10 = 40"

**For strips/wraps only - depending on the size that you select the image may either be stretched or repeated on the strip, if there is a specific way you want the strips to be example: you don't want the image "stretched" to fit the strip size you are ordering just add a note in the special instructions box on the order form that you would like the image "repeated" on the strip instead of being stretched. That way the strip will have the same image repeated more than once on the strip to fill the size you ordered and it won't be stretched.

***All images will have a thin black cutting line around them as they are not pre cut. You can easily cut/trim them with scissors, an xacto knife or paper punch. 

****The size is a personal preference. If you know the dimensions of the cake or where you want to place the image(s) just decide from there how big/small you want the image(s) to be. If you want it to go all the way around you will need to know the exact measurements length wise all the way around the cake and then the height that you want it to be. I have 80+ different sizes available in the drop down list and if you need a custom size that you don't see I can do that as well, just let me know.

PERSONALIZATION

Personalization Information

Add a sweet personal touch to your edible image! Images can be personalized with a message for any occasion, and personalization is always optional and included at no extra charge. 

Please note: Personalization messages are most visible and easier to read on larger edible image sizes. Smaller sizes may limit how large the text can be printed.

To add personalization, type your message in the “Personalization Message” box on the item you are ordering. Please enter the message exactly how you want it to appear on your image, including spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and any special instructions.

You may also include details such as:

• Font color
• Font style
• Placement on the image
• Any other design requests

To help avoid multiple proofs and processing delays, please make sure all personalization details are complete and correct when placing your order.

If you do not want your image personalized, simply leave the personalization box blank.

Proof Requests

If you request a proof before your order is printed and shipped, your personalized image will be created and emailed to the email address entered on your order form within 24-96 hrs/1–4 business days, Monday–Friday, excluding postal holidays.

Please note that processing and shipping may be delayed while waiting for proof approval. If no response is received within 2 days, your order may be printed and shipped within the posted processing time of 2–6 business days to help prevent further delays.

DIGITAL FILES

A digital file is an image file that is emailed to you. Format is an image file; png, jpg, pdf. You can print it yourself at home or take it to a photo lab, print shop, or bakery to have it printed.

No physical item will be shipped when you purchase a digital file.

Digital files are emailed to the email address provided on your order form within 24–48 hours / 1–2 business days, Monday–Friday, excluding holidays.

Digital files are not available as instant downloads because they may include personalization, which must be manually typed and prepared. All digital files will be sent by email.

If you request personalization, a sample proof will be emailed to you within 24–48 hours / 1–2 business days, Monday–Friday, excluding holidays. Please review the proof carefully. If approval is not received within 2 business days, the final digital file may be emailed to you to avoid further delays.

Digital files are not edible unless you have them printed on frosting sheets using a cake printer and edible ink. Some bakeries may offer this service.

Printing Your Digital File

Before ordering, please check with your photo lab, print shop, or bakery to make sure they are able and willing to print the image you are purchasing. Some locations have specific printing policies, especially for certain designs.

Refunds are not given on digital files for any reason due to the nature of the item.

Most sizes are designed to print on 8.5" x 11" paper, except:

• 8.5x14”: Prints on legal-size paper
• 9" or larger round/square/heart: Prints on A3 size paper
• 11x14”: Prints on A3 size  paper

The 9" or larger round/square heart and 11x14” sizes require a wide-format printer.

Copyright & Licensed Graphics

Sweet Custom Creations does not claim ownership of any licensed graphics. Licensed character images are used for inspiration only and are intended for one-time personal use, such as birthday parties or personal celebrations.

I do not provide copyright releases. Please make sure your chosen print shop, photo lab, or bakery does not require one before placing your order.

Some print shops or bakeries may refuse to print certain designs due to copyright policies. Sweet Custom Creations is not responsible for printing issues between you and the printing company. If one location will not print your file, you may need to try another location or print it yourself at home.

No refunds will be given if your print shop, bakery, or photo lab refuses to print your purchased digital file.

Saving & Downloading Your File

When you receive your file by email, click on the attachment and save or download it to your computer, USB flash drive, or disk. From there, you can print it at home, upload it to an online printing vendor, or take it to a local printer or bakery.

For best results, please download and save your file from a computer, not a cell phone or iPad.

Cell phones and tablets may compress or reduce file sizes, which can affect the quality and cause issues when uploading to online printing vendors. Using a computer helps keep the original 300 DPI high-resolution file intact.

Why Is My File Not Printing Correctly?

Sweet Custom Creations creates the digital file for you to print, but I am not responsible for the actual printing process. Printing results can vary depending on the printer, print shop, paper, ink, settings, and how the file was saved.

Your file will print as it appears. If it looks different after printing, that is usually due to the printer, print settings, or printing vendor.

Common printing issues include:

• The file was saved incorrectly or downloaded from a phone/tablet
• The print shop did not print the file at full 300 DPI quality
• The printer settings were incorrect
• The wrong paper size was selected
• “Fit to page” was not selected
• The printer added borders or required bleed lines
• The printer’s color settings changed the colors
• The image was printed with auto-correct settings turned on

If your file looks crisp on the screen but prints blurry, it usually means the file was not saved correctly or was printed at a lower resolution than provided.

Colors may vary between monitors, printers, paper types, ink brands, and printer settings. Sweet Custom Creations is not responsible for color differences caused by printing.

Printing With Online or Walk-In Vendors

If using an online printer, photo lab, walk-in print shop, or bakery, please contact them directly for instructions on how to upload and print your file. Each vendor has different printing requirements and processes.

Some vendors require white borders or bleed lines. My files do not include borders or bleed lines and are created exactly as shown in the listing.

If your printed file looks different than the digital file, it is a technical issue with the printing vendor or printer settings, not the file itself.

For best color results, you may need to ask the lab to print without “auto correct” or automatic color adjustments.

Printing Copyright Images

Some photo labs, bakeries, and print shops may refuse to print designs that include licensed or character-inspired graphics. This depends on the policies of each individual location.

If one location will not print your file, you may need to try another location or print it at home.

Please remember that printing approval is completely up to the individual location. Sweet Custom Creations is not responsible if a vendor refuses to print your file.

Printing Tips for At-Home Printing

If printing at home, please make sure you have basic printing knowledge and check your printer settings before printing.

For best results:

• Download your file from a computer
• Print from the original file emailed to you
• Select the correct paper size
• Choose “fit to page” if needed
• Set margins to “0” or the smallest setting allowed
• Use borderless printing if your printer offers it
• Make sure your ink cartridges are full
• Check your printer’s color and quality settings
• Print at the highest quality setting available

If only part of the image prints, select “fit to page” in your printer settings.

If the image prints too large or too small, double-check the paper size and make sure you are printing from the original high-resolution file.

All digital files are created as 300 DPI high-resolution files for quality printing and are sized according to the option you selected.

INSTRUCTIONS AND TIPS

Tips on Storing, Handling and Applying your Edible Images

Your edible image is printed with edible ink on a real layer of icing. The icing sheet is attached to one plastic backing sheet, which must be removed before applying the image to your frosted treat. Once the plastic backing is removed, the image is ready to use.

Storage

Keep your frosting sheet sealed in the zip-lock bag it comes in until you are ready to use it. Store it flat at room temperature, on a shelf, and away from direct sunlight. Frosting sheets have a shelf life of approximately 24 months when stored properly. Do NOT refrigerate or freeze the unused frosting sheet. Cold temperatures can dry out the sheet and cause cracking or breaking.

Cutting Your Image

Edible images are not precut. Each image will have a black cutting line around it so you can easily cut or trim it to size. You may also trim off any white borders if desired.

Use clean, dry scissors to cut or trim the frosting sheet before removing the plastic backing sheet.

If your frosting sheet is cold due to winter weather, keep it sealed in the plastic bag and allow it to warm to room temperature before cutting. Cold frosting sheets can become brittle and may crack or break.

If Your Frosting Sheet Becomes Brittle

If your frosting sheet feels brittle or difficult to work with, try one of the following methods to help soften it before cutting or applying:

Airtight Hydration — Best Method
Place the frosting sheet inside a sealed bag with a slightly damp paper towel placed behind the plastic backing sheet. Do not allow the damp paper towel to touch the icing side. Let it sit sealed for 12–24 hours to allow the sheet to soften.

Steam Treatment
Carefully hold the icing sheet over a pot of steaming water for just a few seconds. The moisture can help make the sheet more pliable. Do not let the sheet get wet.

Fine Mist Method
Lightly mist the plastic backing side only with water using a fine mist spray bottle. Place the sheet back into a sealed bag and allow the moisture to absorb.

Piping Gel
Apply a very thin layer of piping gel to the back of the sheet to add moisture and help improve adhesion to the cake.

When to Apply

For buttercream or other firm frostings, the edible image may be applied at your convenience, but no more than 48 hours before your event.

If your frosting is very moist, the image may fade or bleed over time. If you are concerned about fading, apply the image within 1 hour of the event.

How to Apply

Do NOT allow water to touch the edible image before or after it is placed on the cake. Water can melt the sheet and ruin the print.

Make sure your hands are clean and dry before handling the image.

Your frosting should be fresh and slightly moist. If the frosting is dry or has formed a crust, lightly mist the frosting only — not the image — before applying. If your treat already has a moist surface, do not add extra moisture. Too much moisture may cause the colors to run or the image to melt.

Edible images will not melt properly into frosting that is too dry.

Before applying, plan exactly where you want the image placed. Once the image touches the frosting, it cannot be moved.

Gently peel the icing image away from the plastic backing sheet. It should peel off easily. If it does not, pull the backing sheet over the sharp edge of a table to help loosen it. Do not pull on the image itself, as it may tear.

Hold the image by the edges and gently place it onto your frosted treat, applying from the center outward. Smooth gently and make sure the edges are touching the frosting.

If bubbles appear after application, gently tap the image. Do not rub it. The image may take 20–30 minutes or longer to melt into the frosting, depending on the type of frosting used. Avoid touching the image, as fingerprints may show. You may add a piped border or other decorations around the edges to finish the look.

Air Bubbles

After the image is applied, allow the finished treat to sit at room temperature for a short time. This may help bring out any air bubbles.

For noticeable bubbles, use a small straight pin to gently poke the bubble, then carefully smooth it out. Use only a tiny poke to avoid wrinkling or damaging the image.

Once the image is applied to the finished treat, the treat may be refrigerated to keep the image moist and help prevent cracking until serving. Avoid long exposure to ultraviolet lighting.

As with any food coloring, the image may fade over time.

Tips for Different Frostings and Treats

These are thicker premium frosting sheets and may be applied to any color frosting. If you are concerned that a dark frosting color may show through, you can place the image on a thin piece of fondant first, then apply it to your frosted treat.

Buttercream Frosting

Apply the image right after icing the cake. Buttercream can form a crust after 15–30 minutes. If a crust has formed, lightly mist the buttercream with sugar water or brush a thin layer of corn syrup where the image will be placed.

Whipped Topping

Do not add extra moisture. Because whipped cream has a high water content, apply the edible image as close to serving time as possible. High-moisture frostings may cause bleeding or fading. To help prevent this, you may add a thin layer of buttercream where the image will be placed.

Ice Cream Cake

If applying to an ice cream cake iced with non-dairy whipped topping, do not add extra water.

If applying directly to ice cream, allow the ice cream to sweat slightly or lightly mist with milk before applying the image.

For soft-serve ice cream, apply the image while the ice cream is soft, then freeze.

If bubbles appear after application or during freezing, gently tap the image. Do not rub. If the decorated cake is frozen, thaw slowly, preferably in the refrigerator. The image may fade over time, as with any food coloring.

Sugar Paste or Fondant

Use a small brush to apply water only where the image will be placed. Water outside the image area may leave marks on the fondant, although they may dry back to normal.

Royal Icing

It is best to apply the image immediately after icing, before the royal icing hardens. If the icing has already hardened, lightly mist the royal icing with water before applying the image.

Poured Chocolate or Ganache

Pour the icing over the treat, then apply the image while the icing is still wet. Let the image set before moving.

Regular or Store-Bought Frosting

If using store-bought frosting or frosting that has been refrigerated, let it soften and blend it in a bowl until smooth and creamy. You may need to lightly mist the frosting with sugar water before applying the image.

Frozen Cakes

Thaw the cake slightly before icing to help prevent cracking, then apply the image. If the decorated cake is frozen, thaw slowly in the refrigerator, uncovered, to help prevent sweating and color bleeding.

Cookies

Edible images can be applied to cookies using regular icing, frosting, royal icing, or corn syrup thinned with a small amount of water.

Oreo Cookies

Brush the cookie with corn syrup thinned with a small amount of water, then place the edible image on top.

Hard Candy Lollipops

Lightly coat the lollipop with corn syrup thinned with a small amount of water, then apply the image.

Chocolate

Use corn syrup thinned with a small amount of water, or gently warm the chocolate with a hair dryer for about 20 seconds before applying the edible image.

Helpful Tips

• Frosting should not be dry or crusted before applying the image.
• The edible image will not melt properly into frosting that is too dry.
• Do not refrigerate the image until it has been applied to a frosted treat.
• The icing sheet may have no flavor or a slight vanilla flavor.
• Handle the image gently and with clean, dry hands.
